Property History
MatchingDonors.com purchased the property at 35 Turnpike Street at auction from the Town of Canton in 2014 with the intent to renovate, sell, and use all proceeds to support organ transplant patients.
In 2015, an electrical fire destroyed the existing structure beyond repair. Skinner Demolition generously donated the demolition and removal of the damaged building. Jim Lamarr, owner of JML Custom Building & Design, Inc., subsequently cleared and graded the property and planned to donate the construction of a 2,500-square-foot home to MatchingDonors.com.
Tragically, Mr. Lamarr passed away before construction could begin, creating this meaningful opportunity to complete his vision and extend his legacy through life-saving philanthropy.

Development Readiness
  • All engineering work and percolation testing have been completed.
  • The property is approved to support a 73 ft. x 38 ft., 7,300-square-foot, five-bedroom residence, featuring:
    • A third-floor office suite
    • A spiral staircase
    • A separate private entrance

Joel Pratt Memorial Fund image
For his lifesaving work with MatchingDonors.com, our Director of Business Development, Joel Pratt was the first person in history to win the prestigious “Good Neighbor Award” from the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors© all in the same year.

Joel Donated His Heart and Soul, and so we have created the Joel Pratt Memorial Fund at MatchingDonors.com in memory of our good friend Joel Pratt. Sadly, Joel recently passed away unexpectedly of congestive heart failure.

Proceeds from the sale of this property and other properties donated to our very successful MatchingDonors.com RealEstate4Kidneys.com program will go to fund the Joel Pratt Memorial Fund at MatchingDonors.com.
The property at 35 Turnpike Street was ready to be rebuilt as a donation by Jim Lamarr owner of JML Custom Building & Design Inc. Jim had the property cleared, graded, and all demolition removed, and was ready to start building a new single-family house on the property. Tragically Jim passed away before he was able to build the house opening up this opportunity.
ABOUT MatchingDonors.com image
Since launching in 2004 MatchingDonors.com, our award winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has helped over 10,000 of our registered patients needing organ transplants and over 15,000 of our registered living altruistic organ donors willing to donate an organ to a patient on MatchingDonors.com.

Many patients get their transplant through MatchingDonors.com within only six months, or less, of registering on this website; instead of the 7 to 15 year wait on the government's transplant waiting list.

MatchingDonors.com has become the most successful nonprofit organization that is finding living altruistic organ donors for people needing kidney and other organ transplants. In 2004, MatchingDonors.com became the first organization in the world to facilitate an organ transplant through the Internet.

Every day in the United States, 22 people die waiting 7-15 years on the government’s waiting list for a deceased organ transplant that will most likely never come; while an additional 253 people die every day needing an organ transplant that were not allowed on the government’s list because they were too poor, too old, or too sick to be considered a “Good Candidate for a Transplant."

A new patient’s name is added to this organ transplant list every 13 minutes. For the past nineteen years, the award-winning team at MatchingDonors.com has been working hard to make sure that doesn’t happen anymore.
